PAST AFTERGLOW PRINT ISSUES

Beginnings, Survival, Feelings, Chaos, and Solidarity. A testament to the enduring creativity of Afterglow’s membership, every yearly installment of the print magazine constitutes a part of a broader narrative. It was only natural to start with the Beginnings Issue, which saw staffers explore firsts in every sense of the word. Survival, released in the throes of the COVID-19 pandemic, gave readers solace during an unprecedented time with its stories of resilience and triumph. Perhaps fittingly, Feeling was the most collaborative of the four issues. Two Managing Editors and two Editors in Chief spearheaded it to explore the breadth of emotional experiences in music. Then, Chaos — ironically the least chaotic to make — challenged readers to embrace the mayhem in their lives and the songs that accompany them. Finally, Solidarity brought everything full circle by exploring how communities can come together through song.
